The Sunrise in Ship Bottotm

Ship Bottom Beach

Ship Bottom, New Jersey is located on a little island called Long Beach Island. Ship Bottom is a beautiful beach to visit. "Ship Bottom is one of the oldest named place on Long Beach Island" says the historian Bailey Lloyd. Ship Bottom is a premier spot for relaxation and peaceful days by the ocean. Ship Bottom has beautiful white sand beaches with huge waves. The sea water here is clear as crystal. Ship Bottom has awesome beach badge checkers as well as lifeguards. In fact, Ship Bottom holds a lifeguard tournament for all the lifeguards around the coast of the Jersey Shore to come compete for the reign of best lifeguards at the Jersey Shore. Ship Bottom is one of the most natural and beautiful beaches on the east coast. In Ship Bottom they have THE "ORIGINAL" Ron Jon Surf Shop.

Atlantic City

At the shore, there is one particular visited place....Atlantic City. Atlantic City is pretty much a little Las Vegas. It has casinos, bars, family restaurants, arcades, and even a boardwalk with rides. Here you can, gamble, have fun with the kids, or even go to its sandy beaches. Atlantic City was built in 1882. In 1978,  New Jersey allowed gambling in Atlantic City, and since then this has become a very populated vacation spot. Atlantic City even has places you can dock your boat if you take a boat ride down to see the beautiful town of Atlantic City. Did you know that....The Trump Taj Mahal Casino Resort in Atlantic City has four and a half times more steel than the Eiffel Tower in Paris, France?

The Cast of Jersey Shore.

Last year MTV decided to do an amazing show called Jersey Shore. This show was filmed in Seaside Heights, New Jersey. The show was a reality t.v. show that followed eight roommates, as they spend their summer at the Jersey Shore. The eight roommates agreed to live in one house together. They rented a house in Seaside Heights, and as an exchange of living in the house they rented they must work at the t-shirt shop located on the Seaside Heights Boardwalk. The cast of the show is Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino, Angelina Pivarnick, Jenny"JWoww" Farley, Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi, Paul "DJ Pauly D" DelVechhio, Ronnie Ortiz-Margo, Sammi "Sweetheart" Giancola, and Vinny Guadagnino. Since this MTV has shown this show, it has made the Jersey Shore a very popular vacation spot.

Seaside Heights Boardwalk

One main attraction at the Jersey Shore is definitely Seaside Heights Boardwalk. At the board walk there are many things to do like go on fun rides, hang out at the beach, and play fun games. As well as eating great food and meeting new people. Here on the boardwalk is the carousel from the 1980's. The boardwalk was completed in 1921. But in 1955 there was a terrible fire that ruined the buildings on the boardwalk and even the carousel. But the fire wasn't the only thing that ruined the wonderful board walk. In 1944 there was a storm that was later called, the Great Hurricane of 1944. So the town of Seaside decided to restore the boardwalk. The completed this in the 1980's. So today the boardwalk is standing, and it is a very popular tourist attraction.

Barnegat Lighthouse.

The Barnegat Lighthouse is located in Barnegat Light, New Jersey on the island of Long Beach Island. The lighthouse is right on the Barnegat Bay.The lighthouse was built in late 1856. Barnegat Light is the second tallest lighthouse in the United States of America. One hundred and sixty-five feet above sea level, stands the lighthouse's light. The navigation use of the light at the Barnegat Lighthouse was navigating boats around until August 1927. This is when the "Barnegat Lightship" was dropped into the water, 8 miles off the coast of Long Beach Island. Although the lighthouse was not used as much, the lighthouse light was reduced 80%. But sadly, in January of 1944, the light house was no longer in use. In 1988 the township of Barnegat Light shut down the lighthouse for some repairs. The lighthouse was reopened in 1991. Still today may people visit the Barnegat Lighthouse, and climb her 217 steps. And once you reach the top of the lighthouse you get to see the lovely beauty of the ocean and the island of Long Beach Island, New Jersey.
